President’s Challenge & Setting Goals
One of the keys to a successful game plan for getting or staying fit is to set goals and then monitor your progress against those goals. Whether you're just starting to work out, 'getting your pretty on' for a special event or trying to up your game, setting short and longer term ACHIEVABLE goals can help you keep on track, better address the inevitable interruptions, unexpected circumstances and occasional indulgences and give you a reason to congratulate yourself each time you hit a goal.. Goals can be as simple as walking some every day vs driving/taxis/subways, cutting out a sugary or fat filled beverage, increasing your time or distance at an activity & even just getting yourself out the door and in the gym! Currently our First Lady is making the full court press to get Americans to get up and move and actively promoting programs via The President's Council on Fitness. One of the great ways to get involved in that AND help yourself establish, monitor and ACHIEVE your goals is to join the "Presidential Challenge" and work towards either the "Presidential Active Lifestyle Award" (PALA), as seen recently on the Biggest Loser, or The "Presidential Champions Award" (for active types looking to push themselves to new heights) by logging your fitness and/or nutritional activities on their interactive site. Not only can you receive awards and track your fitness online, but it will make you more aware of all the many ways we can incorporate physical activity and healthy choices in our lives... walking on the beach, gardening, household chores, etc., etc. all count toward upping our physical activity. And yes, my workout videos ABSOLUTELY count! I've joined and formed a Group for CoreFitnessByJana members and followers. So join in as an individual or part of our Group & see just how awesome you are and what you can achieve.
